Status: In a foster home in KAUST until a suitable forever home is found for her

Medical History: Vaccinated. Spayed and microchipped. 

PERSONALITY:

· Temperament: Friendly, affectionate, low energy

· Good with strangers? Yes, although she might be a bit shy and take time to get comfortable around them

· Good with kids? No: she can be irritated by young children who may not respect boundaries and who can make sudden jumpy movements. She's better with older kids with experience with dogs  

· Good with dogs? Selective: she's not good with all dogs, especially with less dominant dogs, she will try to overpower them, but she is good socializing with other small dogs at the park (can be get nervous around large dogs) 

· Good with Cats? Yes, she's not as obsessed with chasing them while out on walks and could potentially get used to living with a cat. 

TRAINING:

Knows commands? Yes (sit, come, knows her name) 

Potty-Trained? YES, on a pad and outside, but still needs reinforcement especially in a new house 

Crate Trained? No, she doesn't like to be locked up in a cage or a room, but is fine being left at home alone (however need to dog-proof the house)

Walks on a leash? Yes, and she absolutely loves going for walks 

Where does dog sleep? She loves to sleep in the bed with her person

Loves: Loves receiving affection and attention and will take any opportunity to come in for pets and cuddles. She also enjoys going for walks, receiving treats and food in general. Doesn't mind being groomed. 

Needs: A confident adopter who has some experience with dogs. Ideally someone with no young children or other dogs and whose children are older and very comfortable and used to dogs. Someone who can give her the time and space to settle into her new how and routine and give her the attention she craves. 

Story: Dora was found in the street in a very poor state: her hair was dirty and matted. She had flees and a wound above her eye. Later, we found out she was kept locked up in an abandoned building in  very poor condition with several other dogs (some of whom were her children). They had very little food, no A.C and were kept in an extremely filthy place for months. Some of the dogs were then released on to the street. We only were able to find and rescue Dora and then a few months later 3 of her children. Now, Dora is a new dog. She's confident, healed and all cleaned up waiting for the right adopter. Her children (Jose and Domingo) are also looking for good homes.
