Other : Peppa has a bit of nervous tick she does when anxious or excited where she bites the air randomly. Melatonin has helped her calm down. 

Temperament: Friendly, Sweet, affectionate, medium energy

Good with strangers? Yes, but she takes time to get comfortable with them. 

Good with kids? No. As she does not like to be touched suddenly 

Good with dogs? YES

Good with cats? YES

Knows any commands? YES (basic)

Potty trained? YES, on a pad and outside 

Walks on a leash? YES

Needs: An experienced adopter who can give her the time and space to get comfortable and settle into her new home and with her new family. Someone who can reinforce potty training in a new home. Ideally someone with no children. 

Likes: cuddles, going for walks and playing with other dogs. 

Story: Peppa was rescued in 2019 after she was kept in a basement of an office building after her owners daughter moved away and he didn't know what to do with her except keep her in the basement and provide the basics. She barely saw anyone or go outside and became fearful of going through doors. She was also very dirty and scared of people. Thankfully, after a year in OPJ care being rehabilitated, she was adopted in 2020 by a lovely couple who took very good care of her. Sadly, one year later, they had to give her up after they moved away and she was adopted by their neighbor in 2021 (he already had adopted a dog from Open Paws before). She stayed with her new adopter for a few years and was very much loved and cared for, but then sadly he came on unforeseen circumstances in 2024 and had to surrender both dogs back to OPJ. Now Peppa is hoping her luck will change and she will find her forever home.
