Temperament: Friendly, playful. medium energy. 

Good with strangers: YES

Good with kids: YES, but needs supervision as he tends to get excited 

Good with dogs: YES, but needs supervision, as he tends to get excited

Knows commands: YES (sit) - needs more training  

Potty Trained: Needs reinforcement in a new home 

Does he walk on a leash? YES

Crate trained? YES, currently sleeps in a crate in the shelter and holds himself to go to the toilet

Loves: stuffed toys and treats (very food motivated)

Needs: A person with some experience with dogs who is confident and can create boundaries, structure and more basic and toilet training. Someone who can exercise him daily ( to release energy and build a bond with him) and engage him in play. Someone who may or may not already have another dog/pet. Beetle would not be ideal for a home with young children, but rather older kids with exposure to dogs. He would also do better in a house with a yard/garden. 

Story: Beetle was left outside of KAEC after his previous owner was not successful in selling him or bringing him inside the city. Thankfully, a couple saw him abandoned and picked him up. They reached out to OPJ and brought him to the clinic under our care. After being vet-checked and given a clean bill of health, Beetle has now a resident of our shelter until a suitable forever home is found for him.
