PERSONALITY: 

Temperament: Shy, nervous, medium  energy. 

Good with strangers: Shy and nervous, takes time to warm up to people 

Good with kids: Shy and nervous, takes time to warm up to people 

Good with dogs: Yes, especially breeds that are similar to his, but also great with small dogs 

Good with Cats: Unknown

TRAINING: 

Knows commands: Yes (sit, come, stay) - needs reinforcement

Potty Trained: Yes, on pads and outside but would need reinforcement in a new home 

Walks on a leash? YES, (walks better with another similar type breed and using a harness). 

Crate trained? Unknown 

Where is he used to sleeping? he sleeps on his own bed, but prefers to be in the same room as his person

Loves: playing with other dogs, running off leash and chewing toys. 

Needs: A very patient adopter who can give him the time and space to settle into his new home and settle in with his new people and gain their trust. Would be ideal for him to be in a home with another dog as he is more comfortable around other dogs (although understandably, he does take time to get to know them also). Would be ideal to have an enclosed outdoor space he can run around in off-leash. He will need someone who can continue to train, socialize and expose him so that he becomes more and more confident. 

Story: Rigo was found in the street, scared and confused. Thank God, a kind man in the area was able to approach him and calmly put a leash on him and then OPJ took him in. He was skittish and nervous around people, coming alive mostly when dogs were around. After passing his medical check and spending time in the OPJ shelter adjusting, Rigo went to a foster home where his foster mama is training and socializing him more and more so he's ready for adoption. Already, Rigo has made so much improvement. Now he just needs an adopter who can be patient and give him the time to trust them.
