Status: In a foster home until a suitable home is found for her

Temperament: Shy, sweet, playful, medium energy
Good with strangers? Yes, but can be a bit shy at first  
Good with kids? Yes
Good with dogs? Yes, loves to play with other dogs (not as exposed to larger dogs)
Good with Cats? Unknown

TRAINING:
Knows commands? Basic (Sit, down)
Potty-Trained? Yes, on a pad but will need reinforcement in a new home
Crate Trained? She us used to sleeping in a playpen (crate with an open top)

Walks on a leash? Yes, but needs more training as she tends to freak out from things in the street 

where does dog usually sleep? Playpen in the bedroom

Loves: playing with other dogs and  receiving affection. 

Needs: A patient adopter who can give her the time and space to get comfortable in her new home. Someone who can continue to work with her on basic commands, reinforce potty training, walking on a leash and socializing her more. It would be ideal for Indie to be in a home with another dog. 

Story: Indie was found in an empty land scared and dirty. She was very scared of people and would not let them approach or rescue her. Thankfully, a determined woman who really wanted to help her managed to arrange with a man in the area who was feeding her to catch her in a trap. She then surrendered Indie to OPJ where we had her checked by a vet and washed. after spending time in the clinic, she moved to the shelter for a while before being fostered by one of our volunteers where is she is now receiving training and care until she finds a suitable adopter.
